David Foster Star Search - "We're searching for a singer to join us on stage at the David Foster & Friends Charity Gala Concert at the River Rock Show Theatre in September... Think you've got what it takes?"

The David Foster and Friends Charity Gala is a special fund raising event in support of The David Foster Foundation. Proceeds from the exclusive private function go directly to the Foundation.

If you live in British Columbia and are between the ages of 14 - 28, you are eligible to enter! Successful applicants will have the opportunity to perform in one of 6 regions throughout BC with regional winners moving on for a final in front of David Foster and a panel of celebrity and industry experts at the River Rock Show Theatre. One lucky winner will then go on to perform in front of a live audience at the David Foster and Friends 2006 Charity Gala on Sunday, September 10th, 2006. On Friday, February 17, 2006, David Foster was promoted within The Order of Canada to Officer of The Order of Canada. David Foster's considerable musical talent is equaled only by this immense kindness and generosity. One of the most sought-after producers, he has not only collaborated with artists of international stature, he has also promoted lesser-known singers. While his career has reached new heights, he continues to support charities that benefit children. Over the years, his foundation has assisted numerous families of British Columbia children in need of major organ transplants. In addition, he has been praised for his work on behalf of organizations that conduct research on cancer, leukemia and AIDS.
